Goddess Athena, Greece

Goddess Athena is the goddess of wisdom, war, knowledge, art, etc. Her temple is located in Parthenon on the Acropolis in Athens. She was born by the head of Zeus, which makes Zeus her mother and father. She is the virgin of Athens. She never slept with anyone, nor did she ever married anyone as the goddess. Many Greeks worshiped her as Athena Polias. She was honored with many festivals. She led many battles. Athena was included in many Greek mythology in Odysseus, Jason, and Heracles as patron and helper of the heroes. The goddess Athena is betrayed differently on how she was born different cultures,such as, the Patroness they believed she was born to Gaia. While in Olympia  She was born by the head of Zeus, which makes Zeus her mother and father. but she has similar characteristics in every culture that makes the goddess Athena be Athena.

  1. What was your reason for discussing Athena out of all the other gods and goddesses. She must have stood out to you. What made her stand out? Also how did her characteristics vary in different cultures?
